Frankenstein

Originally Aired: November 3, 1952

In Suspense #485, "Frankenstein," Dr. Victor Frankenstein visits his friend James, a minister, with a confession that will shake them both to their core. Victor has been conducting secret experiments for three years, ever since he briefly revived a dead dog with a mysterious compound. Now he's created something far more ambitious: a complete human body, stitched together and waiting in his locked laboratory. He's sent his wife Elizabeth away because he doesn't want her present for what comes next. Despite his moral reservations, James follows Victor into the windowless addition to witness the terrible fruit of his work.

As Victor demonstrates his creation with injections that cause the body's limbs to move, James pleads with him to destroy everything and stop the experiments. Victor insists he must see it through, that his discovery represents something greater than anything since the world began. But when Victor applies the stethoscope to his creation's chest, both men hear something impossible, something that suggests Victor's experiment has gone further than either of them imagined.
